If you honestly fit the above description, then almost any skills you have will be valued. We are particularly looking for people who have skills in one (or more) of the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Music
  • Event planning and execution
  • Office work
  • Graphic design
  • Publicity
  • Hospitality
  • Building care (custodial and/or simple repairs)
  • Peer-to-peer pastoral care 
  • Accounting

but if you are fired up to help build a caring, open, authentic community, we can find a way to make use of whatever skills you have.

What we offer:

  • Weekly one-on-one paid mentoring meetings, at least for the first year

What we require:

  • An application:
    • A cover letter, explaining your interest in working at Wesley
    • A resume
    • A transcript (informal - a CMU academic history is fine)
    • Three references
  • An interview, scheduled with you after your application
  • If hired:
    • Participation in an overnight Staff Retreat, either at the end of Spring Semester or start of Fall (2018),
      with dates to be determined by the hired staff
    • Five to ten hours per week of work, including:
      • A weekly leadership team meeting, creating and implementing Wesley's programs
      • A weekly one-on-one mentoring meeting with the Director
    • Participation in the Spring 2020 Wesley Alternative Spring Break trip,
      or advance negotiation with the Director on why this is not possible/desirable
    • Participation in weekly Christian activities at Wesley (Sunday worship is expected; for those committed to a different worshiping community, mid-week worship and/or studies may be negotiated)
