Wesley is seeking students who wish to work within a church setting during their academic year. Three positions are available: a family ministries intern*, a children's ministry intern, and a nutrition program intern. Each pays $9/hour for 10 hours/week.
The positions are funded in part by a grant from the United Methodist Church and there are a couple of requirements in addition to the work in the church:
1) There is a mandatory unpaid training retreat with interns from across Michigan in East Lansing, the evening of Friday August 18 through the afternoon of August 19.
2) There will be bi-weekly paid one-on-one meetings with a mentor from the church (probably the pastor).
3) There will be bi-weekly paid meetings with the Wesley director and a smaller group of interns, held at CMU and/or Ferris State. Transportation will be provided if it's not at CMU.
Email Charlie Farnum <director@CMU.MiWesley.org> for more information.
*These are not "interns" in CMU's technical sense - there is no college credit granted. We call them "interns" because employees will be learning on-the-job and have mentoring available.
